Howlers to Las Vegas

The Dog River Howlers will be sending two teams to compete in the Las Vegas Invitational Sevens tournament, running from February 10 - 12, 2011. This will be the first time the Howlers will play in a US-based sevens event and the first U 18 team representation for the club. The Junior Howlers will be playing in the U 18 International Division, featuring two all star teams selected from the United States, two BC representative sides, and teams from Colorado, Utah and the Mid-Atlantic.

The Senior Howlers will be competing in the Men's Elite Division, featuring the national teams from Bermuda, Russia, Jamaica, Chile, Mexico and club teams France Select, Kamikaze International (from the UK) and Humless, (from Utah).

Along with Karl Fix, Howler President, the team will be accompanied by Rodger Swany (frequent manager of the Rugby Canada NSMT programs) to assist with management duties. The Howlers are also fortunate to have the services of Lizette Greyling. Lizette is a very experienced therapist and will bring her skills to assist with training preparation and player management (injury, hydration, recuperation). Also making the trip will be the Howlers official photographer Jose Lagman and Judy Teasdale (also a photographer).

As always,there will a good contingent of  Howler supporters and rugby enthusiasts making their way down to watch the Howlers and take in the iRB 7's.
